CAn YOU CAN BECOME A HEALTHIER VERSION OF YOU WITHOUT TRACKING CALORIES?
People often ask me if you ๐ก๐๐๐ to track caloriesโฆ
And the answer is ๐ก๐ขโฆ
The analogy I give them though is, do you need to check the speedometer on your car while driving?
Not necessarily.
But… if you are constantly getting speeding tickets, it might be time for a change.
What happens though when tracking becomes TOO much?
What happens for those who already have a poor relationship with food?
Does every situation call for tracking?
No. It all depends.
There are many techniques that can be used instead of tracking to help with portion control, creating a better relationship with food, & create an overall healthier you (along with losing body fat along the way…)
This is why having a truly individualized plan can make all the difference when it comes to sustainable results… one size does not fit all when it comes to your fat loss goals.
Tracking macros / calories isnโt always what you may think it is eitherโฆ
Tracking macros / calories is a spectrumโฆ not a singular approach. This is often where people are discouraged by tracking based on a past experience or what theyโve โheardโ itโs likeโฆ
The truth is they were typically given too rigid (or possibly too loose) of a structure on the tracking spectrum for their specific situation (likely among other issues from the past as well.)
Most of my clients start around the protein & calorie specific range which is done through guess-timation on my fitness pal.
We do this to gain an understanding of where we are at with our eating habits, and use it almost as a digital diary especially in the beginning.
Typically we move towards a more intuitive approach when the situation calls for it, and this completely depends on many different variables within the individual clients situation.
This is where we want to move towards long term. Tracking isnโt a life sentence of using an app for every single thing you eatโ that would be miserable & itโs unrealistic.
Rather, tracking is a tool that can be used when needed & the spectrum in which you are tracking can be manipulated to also fit the specific personโs past, situation, experience, history, etc.
Everyoneโs different. Individualization makes all the difference. Combine this customized approach with outside support & accountabilityโฆ watch your health & wellbeing change for good.
